Alan is a close friend who lives in the same small fishing town as me. He has been instrumental in assisting me illustrate all of my books for which I am greatly indebted to him. Alan's main employment is with the local harbour office and he is greatly interested in all aspects of shipping including the local trawler fleet. He takes his work very seriously and this is reflected in his style and character of the finished photographs. Alan also freelances for the local newspaper the Whitby Gazette and this allows him to express his creativity. In the many thousands of photographic assignments he has done for the newspaper he has yet to scoop that big pay day but he lives in hope. In updating the website I felt that it would be an injustice if I neglected to include some of Alan's photographs!
